God Is It.
In the most loving memory of Aunt Barbara Council Williams.
ππ If you ever saw a green truck with the plate GODISIT, you probably saw my Aunt Barbara living her ministry in motion. ππ
She’d pile us, her “Pooka-Pooka-Pookies”, into that truck and drive around handing out Whoppers from Burger King (back when they were only $0.99) to folks in the community who needed a meal and a little love.
We’d sit in that drive-thru line forever waiting for them to make as many Whoppers as she could afford. π She never rushed a moment that was meant for helping someone else. Also, not only would she be talking to the person working the drivethrough, she would also be carrying on a whole live conversation through the window with somebody she saw inside!!! π€£π₯Ήππ
Aunt Barbara knows everybody. And if she doesn’t, give her five minutes — she will figure out how she knows your cousin’s cousin’s mama’s granddaddy’s uncle. π She is nosy in the BEST way, the kind of way that comes from love and genuine curiosity. As kids, it was so embarrassing to stand there while she asked fifty million questions trying to trace someone’s entire bloodline. π€£ But that’s her!! She never meets a stranger, and she makes sure nobody else feels like one either.
Funny thing… when I was little, I used to read her plate as “God, I sit.” π Now I know that’s exactly what she does… she sits in His presence and follows His lead every single day. π
Just a few days ago, she couldn’t eat much and they gave her a burger for lunch, and she insisted we pack it up so we could take it to a homeless person. And of course, when I saw her the next morning, she followed up to make sure we actually did it and someone was blessed. π₯Ή
Us Council women come from strong stock — built with faith, fire, and just the right amount of Holy mischief. ππ€ͺπAunt Barbara makes sure of that!!! And we all know that apple doesn’t fall too far (heehee)
May we all carry a little more of her spirit — to see need, to show love, and to serve without hesitation! Aye man - remember, kindness costs nothing!! π
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
— Proverbs 19:17 (KJV)
That means when you show compassion - when you feed, comfort, or care for someone in need, you’re giving directly to God Himself. Every act of kindness is seen, remembered, and repaid in His time. Aunt Barbara is my example of that truth with every meal she shared and every soul she keeps touching. π
Please keep praying!!!
